Going "Under the Radar"
A couple of times a year, IBD Network is producing an event called "Under the Radar", featuring 40 startups, screened and selected by an advisory committee, that pitch a panel of VCs and get feedback on their product, market, business opportunity,... It is generally well attended by a mix of VCs, large companies (read potential acquirers), service firms, etc.
The "Consumer Technologies" edition will take place on May 31st, on the Microsoft Campus in Mountain View, and promises to be interesting given the companies that have "made the cut" so far.
Some portfolio companies or clients of mine presented at the event a few times, and I have always found their time, and cash, well spent.
I'll be attending with one of my clients, so look me up if you are there as well.
Readers of "Software Only" can get a discount of $70 by using this link. So if you plan to attend, do take advantage of it (and no, I am not getting a commission on registration - just to make things clear).
Last point: if you are presenting, do prepare thoroughly your 5 min pitch. Presenting to VCs with 200+ people watching is quite... unusual.
Update: there is a now a blog providing a sneak preview of the presenting companies.

Had missed this on the evdb list...thanks for the heads up...looks interesting.
