A few weeks ago I posted that, quite bizarrely, my MSN Spaces account was the number 2 hit when googling "MSN Spaces". I read this morning that Google is performing a backlink update, which effects PageRank, and therefore the order in which search results are displayed.
I thought about checking, and yes, kiss goodbye to Jeff's Space and welcome "Bunny's Test Space". My original thought was that a Space listed as recently updated was found by GoogleBot, and ended being linked by a large number of Spaces (hence the Juice) but Bunny's URL has a PageRank of 4. Checking on Technorati, that URL only has a few links.
It might be a case of a "holding URL" that aggregates the juice of all accounts in the spaces.msn.com/members/* subdomain, and is randomly associated with a given account. Sort of the equivalent to what happens with Alexa, which can only provide statistics for a root domain.
So congrats Bunny (or actually Stephanie), you have the Spaces of the month (or whatever is the frequency of PR updates).
