Moderating a panel on Internet Advertising - March 9th 6PM @ Silicon Valley Bank, Santa Clara, CA

I have been invited to moderate (tonight) an SDForum panel on Internet advertising trends, and their positive impact on startup companies. As it has been discussed so many times, online advertising has become the default business model of Web 2.0 companies. However, advertising will only go so far as paying a few bills for most companies – at least in its default/basic incarnation. One of my objectives is to get our panel to share their experience, and recommendations, as to what it means to build a sustainable, scalable, advertising revenue base. My panelists will be:

You can register for this event (here) which will take place at the Kellogg Auditorium of Silicon Valley Bank, 3005 Tasman Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054 map.

Charge: $20 Passport Program Members, $25 SDForum, ANZA, CSPA & Silicon Vikings members, $35 Non-members.

PS: Note that my involvement in this panel has confused a few of my readers and Search SIG attendees. The next session of the Search SIG is next Thursday (3/16) at AOL, and will deal with “The Search for Attention”. I recommend this post by Dan Farber as a pre-event read, in which he relates the different aspects of Attention that were discussed at Etech.
